John and Gloria Tveten

When you read a book by the Tveten's, you will be treated to works of art and wordsmithing. Wonderful pictures and great writing is the Tveten Standard. When asked to recommend a book about Texas birds that is more for reading and learning rather than just about identification, their Birds of Texas is a classic. They wrote the weekly nature column for the Houston Chronicle for 24 years, never missing a week or a deadline. John claims to never had any trouble wondering what to write about, a tribute to his interest in all things natural. Although we don't carry then, Gloria also authored some math textbooks while she was teaching.

John also does the pen and ink drawings for the books in their Nature Trails series. When we do shows together, we help them sell these one-of-a-kind prints.
