Discovering South Texas Wildlife
The Valley Land Fund Wildlife Photo Contest VII
You can support wildlife habitat conservation along the Texas-Mexico border while enjoying this beautiful book. The product of the Valley Land Fund’s seventh photo contest, over $100,000 was awarded in prize money to the photographers, and the landowner who partnered with the photographer to provide access for a six-month period. The entire contest funds land acquisition and habitat preservation by the Valley Land Fund. Hosting the photographers rewards the land owners for managing for wildlife, too.
Each team submits a 50 image portfolio from five divisions: Birds, Mammals, Insects & Arachnids, Reptiles & Amphibians, and Special Categories. This book features 250 winning photos, from the professionals, youth winners and the new ‘one shot’ winner, for folks who wanted to participate, but couldn’t commit to the full contest. When you look at the pictures, you will see both the photographer’s name, and the property’s name and information on the photo itself. More than a beautiful book and a way to support acquisition of more habitat to protect, information about the wildlife is included, too.
Hardcover with dust jacket, 210 pages, 11 x 8.5 inches, full-color pictures (otherwise what would be the point?), October 2007, entirely produced and printed in the Rio Grande Valley.
