50 Tips from North America's Top Birders, edited by Lisa White, foreward by Pete Dunne
A great gift for anyone at any level of interest in birds and/or birdwatching. Reading this book is like getting to sit down and visit with fifty interesting people who share a love of birds. They'll tell you about their adventures and misadventures on trips, feeding, birdscaping, advocating, even lens cleaning! Although I was going to say that it's a great book to pick up when you have a few spare moments to fill, in reality, it's a hard book to put down, as you'll fall victim to that "just one more chapter" syndrome. It's fun, extremely well written and organized, and I suggest you start with two, as you'll end up loaning this book out to someone who'll keep it. If you travel to birding festivals and like collecting autographs, bring this along, as chances are you'll have an author in the midst!
From the publisher: In these 50 light and fun original essays, the biggest names in birding dispense advice to birders of every level, on topics ranging from feeding birds and cleaning binoculars to pishing and pelagic birding.
